An International Fatima Conference to celebrate the centenary of the Fatima Apparitions will take place at the Shearwater Hotel, Ballinasloe, Co Galway, on Friday 19 and Saturday 20 May.

Archbishop Eamon Martin, Archbishop of Armagh and Primate of All Ireland, will celebrate the Solemn Mass of Our Lady of Fatima during the conference.

Bishop John Kirby, Bishop of Clonfert, will give the opening welcome address at the conference. Other speakers at the two-day event will include Professor William A. Thomas of the Pontifical Marian Academy; Father Joseph M. Wolfe MFVA of ETWN; and Donal Foley, Secretary of the World Apostolate of Fatima in England and Wales.

This year marks the 100th anniversary since Our Lady first appeared in Fatima, Portugal, on 13 May 1917. The apparitions continued until 13 October 1917. The Vatican has confirmed that the Holy Father Pope Francis will travel to Fatima to mark the centenary of the apparitions.

A pilgrim statue blessed by Pope Paul VI in the presence of Sister Lucia one of the seers of Fatima will be present at the conference along with a saffire rosary donated by Blessed Pope Paul VI that comes with the statue.

EWTN will televise the event to an audience of hundreds of millions of people around the world.
