On 7 June, the International Eucharistic and Marian Shrine at Knock will host the 40th Annual All Ireland Rosary Rally – a powerful day of prayer, reflection, and devotion that has united Catholics from across Ireland and beyond for four decades in honour of Our Lady.
The event begins at 9.30am in the Marian Conference Room of Saint John’s Centre. Speakers will include Archbishop Francis Duffy, Archbishop of Tuam, Father John Harris OP, and Christine O’Hara. Pilgrims will also have the opportunity to meet with 20 Apostolates from across Ireland. From 10.00am to 12.00pm, Rosary and Scapular-making workshops will take place in the Marquee. At 12.00pm, the filming of the Human Living Rosary will take place in the grass area behind the Basilica.
Monsignor Steve Rossetti – a priest of the Diocese of Syracuse, NewYork and a research associate professor at the Catholic University of America – will deliver the keynote address at 1.00 pm in the Basilica, which will also include prayers for healing. At 2.00pm, Father Rory Brady will lead the Stations of the Cross, followed by a Rosary Procession led by the Home of the Mother Sisters and the Children’s Rosary. Mass will be celebrated at 3.00pm by Bishop Donal McKeown, Bishop of Derry, who will also serve as the homilist. Music will be provided by former Eurovision Song Contest winner and MEP, Dana Rosemary Scallon.
From 4.30pm to 6.00pm, pilgrims will be invited to a picnic in the grass area behind the Basilica – an opportunity to meet and share with others. A Youth Conference for pilgrims aged 18 to 35 will follow in Saint John’s Centre and run until 8.00pm, and this will be led by Father Luke DeMasi, Danielle Stephens, and Monsignor Steve Rossetti.
The day will conclude with a Pentecost Vigil and Healing Service, led by Basilica Leaders, Father Joseph Mary Deane CFR and Monsignor Rossetti, ending at 11.00 pm, Confessions will be available throughout the day, and all are welcome.
On Sunday, 8 June, the Climb for Ireland will gather at the foot of Croagh Patrick at 10.00am, with Holy Mass celebrated at the summit at 12.00pm.
This year’s Rosary Rally is supported by several organisations, including Aid to the Church in Need Ireland, the papal charity that supports vulnerable Christian communities in over 140 countries.
