Cardinal Timothy Dolan to join Archbishops of Armagh in today’s Saint Patrick’s Lecture via Skype

by | 16 Mar, 2017 | News

Cardinal Timothy Dolan, Archbishop of New York, will be the 2017 guest speaker at the annual Saint Patrick’s Lecture today in The Market Place Theatre, Armagh.

The theme of this year’s Saint Patrick’s Lecture is ‘Saint Patrick the Exile’. A novel development this year is that, for the first time, Cardinal Dolan will join the Saint Patrick’s Lecture via Skype from New York.

Cardinal Dolan will join the Archbishops of Armagh – Archbishop Eamon Martin and Archbishop Richard Clarke – who will be in attendance at The Market Place Theatre and the three will speak on what Saint Patrick means to them in a modern world and take questions from the audience, including local second-level students.

The Archbishops will be in conversation with BBC journalist Tara Mills on the eve of the Feast of Saint Patrick, and they will discuss how Saint Patrick’s words still resonate and have relevance for many of the challenges faced by people today.

This is a free event as part of the Saint Patrick’s Festival in Armagh. Booking is essential through the Market Place Theatre website.
