A team of volunteers from Living Youth, the Youth Commission of the Diocese of Down and Connor, has traveled to Addis Ababa in Ethiopia to support Habitat for Humanity NI in their slum upgrading project. The volunteers will be in Ethiopia from 8–22 August helping to build community toilets and renovate homes for the most vulnerable in Ethiopia.

In Ethiopia’s towns and cities, more than 90% of homes are in urgent need of repair. For the past ten years, support from Habitat for Humanity NI has been transforming lives of the poor and marginalised in Ethiopia through small changes which make a world of difference to families in need; simple homes, clean water, proper toilets. This is the fourth year Living Youth have partnered with Habitat for Humanity NI to volunteer in Ethiopia.

Habitat for Humanity is a global non-profit Christian housing organisation that seeks to put God’s love into action by bringing people together to build homes, communities and hope. It has helped more than 2.5 million people of all races, faiths and backgrounds have a safe and healthy place to live. Habitat for Humanity NI is a key partner in the global mission, raising funds and sending volunteers to work alongside families in need in some of the world’s most vulnerable communities.
