Faithcast is the weekly podcast from www.catholicnews.ie featuring a mixture of interviews and news snippets from the Catholic Church in Ireland. Faithcast is produced and presented by Brenda Drumm.

In this episode of Faithcast, Brenda speaks to Father Richard Gibbons, Rector and Parish Priest of Knock Shrine about a special pilgrimage from Knock to New York relating to the story of John Curry, the youngest of the Knock witnesses.

Brenda also speaks to Father Willie Purcell about a new vocations prayer initiative to coincide with the centenary of the Fatima apparitions – #Pray4Vocations.

This week’s faith news focuses on a choral concert in Saint Patrick’s College, Maynooth with the concert choir of the University of South Carolina; the final preparations for the beatification of Father John Sullivan SJ; ‘Home for Good?’ – the new report on returning emigrants by Crosscare Migrant Project; the 2FM Breakfast Republic’s visit to Palestine and Israel with Trócaire; and Archbishop Eamon Martin’s address at the University of East Anglia as part of the Newman Lecture Series in which he expressed his concern that decades of service by countless religious sisters and priests to the education and healthcare of the people of Ireland and all over the world is almost obliterated by a revised and narrow narrative that religious ethos cannot be good for democracy.
