Father Sean MacDonagh SSC to deliver talk on ‘Laudato Si: A Prophetic Challenge for the 21st Century’

Father Sean MacDonagh SSC, internationally renowned authority on the challenges facing the global environment, will be speaking in the Diocese of Derry on Tuesday 3 May 2016 on the theme ‘Laudato Si: A Prophetic Challenge for the 21st Century’.

Father MacDonagh’s talk will be followed by discussion of how the challenges of climate change and climate justice will affect all of us in the decades to come. All are welcome to this event which will take place in the City Hotel, Derry at 8.00pm on Tuesday 3 May.

Pope Francis’ Encyclical Letter Laudato Si, on care for our common home, was published on 18 June 2015. In his encyclical Pope Francis posed the question:”What kind of a world do we want to leave to those who come after us, to children who are now growing up?”
