by | 3 Aug, 2016 | News

The Redemptorist National Youth Congress takes place this week in the Redemptorist Monastery in Esker, Co Galway. The theme of this year’s National Youth Congress is ‘Back to Our Roots’.

Close to sixty young people, along with youth leaders, have gathered from across Ireland for a chance to further explore their faith while having fun and building friendships.

Running until Friday 5 August, the four-day youth congress includes various talks and workshops on topics such as Gospel music, art, social justice and meditation. On the Thursday, the group will also make a pilgrimage to Ireland’s holy mountain, Croagh Patrick, in Co Mayo. The rest of the week will offer several social events and opportunity for prayers, reflections and discussions on the issues that affect young people in Ireland today.
