The Chapel Choir of Saint Patrick’s College, Maynooth, will host a unique evening of sacred music in the College Chapel this Sunday 29 April at 5.00pm.

Led by Dr John O’Keeffe, Director of Sacred Music at Saint Patrick’s College, Maynooth, ‘Feasts and Seasons – Music from the Church Year’ will offer a broad selection of sacred musical settings composed by Handel, Martin O’Leary, Colin Mawby, Ronan McDonagh, and Seán and Peadar Ó Riada, together with music from the Gregorian and native Irish traditions.

The concert will be held in the College Chapel of the national seminary in Saint Patrick’s College, Maynooth. Built between 1875 and 1891, the church is the largest choir chapel in the word, having 454 carved oak choir-stalls, row upon row of church seats facing across the aisle rather than towards the altar, to facilitate the public recitation of the divine office. It is considered one of the most beautiful places of worship in Ireland.

All are welcome to attend the concert. Tickets are €10 each and are available now at the Maynooth Bookshop or on www.eventbrite.ie. For more information please contact [email protected].
