Following the success of its initial launch earlier this year, the Facilitative Leadership Training Programme of the Irish Synodal Pathway has announced two additional course dates in Knock this October. Initially rolled out across six locations between February and May, the programme received overwhelmingly positive feedback, with participants praising its impact on leadership development within the life and mission of the Church.
This pilot programme, which includes an overnight residential component, was developed based on a needs analysis conducted by an independent researcher in March 2023. It aims to equip clergy, religious, and lay leaders with the skills necessary to promote and embed synodality in the life and mission of the Church across Ireland.
According to the General Secretary of the Irish Synodal Pathway, Ms Julieann Moran (pictured), “Ideal candidates for the programme include members of Parish Pastoral Councils, Diocesan Synodal Teams, Religious Congregations, Ecclesial Movements, and other key groups involved in Church leadership. Priests, deacons, lay pastoral workers, and those engaged in diocesan programs or initiatives focused on parish groupings are encouraged to apply.”
The newly secured dates for the training are:
Friday, 4 October and Saturday, 5 October
Friday, 18 October and Saturday, 19 October
With limited spaces available, interested individuals are urged to register quickly. Full details of the programme, including its overnight residential component and quarterly follow-up sessions, can be downloaded here.
