The Trócaire annual Lenten campaign for 2016 is coming to a close. Trócaire are asking people to return their Trócaire boxes to to their local school, parish, or to one of the Trócaire centres which can be found on Cathedral Street in Dublin, Cook Street in Cork, King Street in Belfast and Maynooth in Co Kildare.
This year’s Lenten campaign donations go towards fighting for climate justice in areas affected by global warming and changing weather patterns. The Trócaire box for 2016 was adorned with the faces of Irish volunteers to celebrate the work they do with Trócaire both at home and abroad. For those who donated in Northern Ireland, all donations made will be matched pound for pound by the UK government up to a total of £5 million.
