At 5.00pm this Saturday, 28 November 2020 – the vigil of the First Sunday of Advent – Bishop Larry Duffy of Clogher will lead an online “Service of Hope”.
In his recent pastoral letter on living our faith through prayer and action (read here), Bishop Duffy highlighted the centrality of Christian hope in these challenging times. Bishop Duffy expressed particular concern for those for whom the current period of restrictions, arising from the Covid-19 pandemic, is a particular burden in terms of mental health, financial pressures and grief.
Bishop Duffy said, “People need hope. Advent is a time of hope. As Christians, it our duty to reach out and to show solidarity through prayers and actions.”
The Service of Hope will feature scripture readings, prayers, music, and will also feature reflections by people from different generations on how the period of Covid-19 has impacted on them.
All are welcome to view this service which will be accessible via clogherdiocese.ie and on the Diocese of Clogher Facebook page.
