Friends of the Holy Land – a non-political Christian Charity whose mission is to secure a resilient and enduring Christian community in the West Bank, Gaza, Israel and Jordan – has produced a Christmas song Hear Angels Cry which, it is hoped, will inspire many people throughout the world to pray in solidarity for reconciliation and peace in the Holy Land. According to Vatican News, Pope Francis has endorsed the song and its theme of a light shining in the darkness and a voice of hope rising from amidst the rubble of war.
Hear Angels Cry is a collaboration between singer Youstina Safar, a resident of Bethlehem and a student at Bethlehem University, and the London-based band Ooberfuse, and was produced in partnership with John Handal, a music producer from Bethlehem.
Friends of the Holy Land encourage people to buy the song on Amazon and other music platforms (Apple Music, Spotify and YouTube) as this increases the chance for the song being a Christmas number one in music charts in as many countries as possible. The more popular the song, then this in turn will benefit the mission of the charity. All monies donated by downloads and streams will help bring relief to Christians in Gaza and the West Bank through the Friends of the Holy Land’s mission.
Following the Pope’s endorsement of Hear Angels Cry, the song has been promoted on Vatican News, see here to read more.
