Veritas, the publishing agency of the Irish Catholic Bishops’ Conference and a leading religious publisher in Ireland, have revealed that, since the launch of Amoris Laetitia (The Joy of Love: On Love in the Family) last Friday, they have received advanced orders for over 1,000 copies.
The document, launched last Friday in Rome, reflects on the role of marriage and the family in the life of the Catholic Church around the world. The Apostolic Exhortation will be available from all nine Veritas stores and on www.veritas.ie from 18 April. The selling price is €4.99, and £3.75 sterling. Since its launch, Veritas has received advance orders for 1,064 copies.
In 2013, Veritas published Pope Francis’ first Apostolic Exhortation Evangelii Gaudium (The Joy of the Gospel), which to date has sold over 23,000 copies. In 2015, Veritas published Pope Francis’s encyclical letter on care for our common home Laudato Si’ (Praise Be To You), which has sold over 15,000 copies in Ireland.
Welcoming the new publication last week, the director of Veritas, Ms Maura Hyland said, “We expect to see a similar high demand from Irish customers for copies of Amoris Laetitia in order that they can read directly for themselves the words of Pope Francis on marriage and family.”
Amoris Laetitia can be pre-ordered now at www.veritas.ie.
