Dominicans announce programme ahead of 10th anniversary of ‘Laudato Si”

Established by the Dominican sisters over twenty-five years ago, An Tairseach, the Wicklow based, Cabra Dominican sponsored Centre for Ecology, Spirituality and Theology, and organic farm, has been an educational and cultural hub, a haven for wildlife, a source of the healthiest and tastiest fresh food available, and an iconic canvas of green organic fields above Wicklow Town.

As we approach the 10th anniversary of Pope Francis’ 2015 encyclical letter Laudato Si’, the cry of the Earth has become increasingly desperate.  An Tairseach has heard Pope Francis’ challenge to promote education, rooted in our Christian tradition, that animates ecological conversion.

An Tairseach is an invitation to everyone to respond positively to the environmental crisis, to try to live out a deeper grasp of our position in the web of life, a deeper connection to our planetary home and all the other lifeforms that share it. In this context, the Centre has announced a wide selection of courses, workshops, and a 4-week sabbatical programme for this autumn season.

The autumn programme includes: John Feehan’s Third Day of Creation weekend course; Loving the Land Saturday workshops led by Angie Kinsella and Peter Loughlin; five-day course Exploring the Mystery at the Heart of Creation facilitated by Colette Kane OP; and, four-week Sabbatical Programme Enter the Centre, facilitated by the team of Sharon Zayac OP, Niamh Brennan, Dolores Whelan, and Colette Kane OP.

If you have any questions about the autumn schedule, please contact the Centre at [email protected].  The webpage: www.antairseach.ie/events/events-calendar provides details of the wide-ranging events that are planned in An Tairseach from 13 September to 1 November next.
