Young adults aged 18 to 30 are warmly invited to Dare to Hope, a major faith-filled gathering taking place on 14 June at Knock Shrine, Co Mayo. Hosted by the Irish Catholic Bishops’ Conference in collaboration with Knock Shrine, this special event aims to create a vibrant space of prayer, reflection and community for young people across Ireland.
The event will feature a dynamic keynote address by Father Conor McDonough OP, a Dominican priest and theology lecturer, renowned for his engaging and accessible teaching style. His address will also be live-streamed on the Catholic Bishops’ Facebook page from 11.00am, allowing wider participation for those unable to attend in person.
Taking place in the newly launched Youth Village of the International Eucharistic and Marian Shrine, the programme includes a mix of inspiring speakers, faith-sharing, and workshops designed to support young adults in their spiritual journey. Workshops throughout the day will include:
- Serving Jesus on the Edge
- Breaking Open the Word of God
- How to Speak About Our Faith
- Reconciliation Service
The gathering will culminate in Mass at the Basilica of Our Lady, celebrated by Bishop Fintan Gavin, Bishop of Cork & Ross and Chair of the Bishops’ Council for Pastoral Renewal and Adult Faith Development.
Speaking ahead of the event, Bishop Gavin said, “In a world where young people are searching for purpose and belonging, this gathering offers a space to encounter Christ, explore faith, and find hope together in community. All are welcome.”
Registration is now open on Eventbrite.ie, and places can be booked for €20. As space is limited, early booking is strongly encouraged.
