Accord Catholic Marriage Care Service seeks marriage preparation programme facilitators

by | 21 Apr, 2022 | News

Accord Catholic Marriage Care Service CLG is currently recruiting volunteers to train as marriage preparation programme facilitators.

Accord is seeking applications from those who have a positive attitude towards marriage in the Catholic Church and the enthusiasm to be part of a team supporting couples who are preparing for the Sacrament of Marriage.

Accord’s marriage facilitators come from a wide variety of professional backgrounds and are trained and work under supervision in accordance with best practice. Successful applicants will receive professional training and will be part of a team delivering marriage preparation programmes locally.

This year Accord is celebrating 60 years supporting couples and families.

Speaking about the importance of accompanying couples as they prepare for the Sacrament of Marriage, Accord’s President Bishop Denis Nulty said, “A strong society is based on strong marriages. Families and friends, the guests who attend wedding ceremonies understand marriage as a fundamental human reality and the commitment of the young couple getting married is so moving because it says against all odds, no matter what happens ‘we’ll be there for one another’. In today’s world, the work that Accord does with couples is more essential than ever.”

Closing date for applications

Those interested in applying to be a facilitator are invited to email [email protected] to receive an application form. Selections will take place in June of this year and training will commence in September.
