The annual Trócaire lecture in St Patrick’s College Maynooth will take place on Thursday 19 May. This year’s lecture will focus on the theme of “Migration – The moral challenge of our time”.

The keynote speaker at the event will be Special Representative of the Secretary General for Migration and Development, and President of the International Catholic Migration Commission, Mr Peter Sutherland.

The International Catholic Migration Commission (ICMC) is an international non-governmental organization, working in the area of migration and refugee assistance. ICMC was founded in 1951, in the wake of the massive human displacement caused by the Second World War. Today, the ICMC continues to respond to the needs of uprooted people and their communities by implementing and advocating for rights-based policies and sustainable solutions through its worldwide membership of Catholic Bishops’ Conferences, and alongside governmental and non-governmental partners.

The event will be held in Renehan Hall, Saint Patrick’s College, Maynooth at 7:30pm on Thursday 19 May. Those hoping to attend the lecture should contact Mary Boyce by email ([email protected]) no later than Monday 16 May.
