In a new video by the Archbishop Eamon Martin, the Archbishop of Armagh shares his personal story of his vocation own to the priesthood.  Archbishop Eamon also speaks about the qualities and skills the Church is seeking in her priests, and encourages others to support men who are considering the priesthood.

At the outset of the video, Archbishop Eamon said, “I will never forget the day I told my mother I was thinking about becoming a priest.” She responded by asking him to pray about this call that he felt, and to find someone he could talk to in order to help him make the right decision.

Speaking about all how the people of God hold a key role in encouraging vocations to the priesthood, the Primate of All Ireland highlighted the importance of the personal, thoughtful, approach.  Archbishop Eamon said, “If you know a young man of strong faith whose heart is like the heart of Jesus, please encourage him to think about the possibility of priesthood. Ask him, “have you ever thought that God might be calling you to be a priest? … God is asking you to tap him on the shoulder and gently invite him to serve as a priest for the future.”
