At the annual diocesan celebration of Consecrated Life, on Sunday evening last 2 February, Archbishop Michael Neary of Tuam launched a new book by Bishop Martin Drennan, the retired Bishop of Galway.

Titled ‘Turning Wounds into Wisdom’ the book is a comprehensive collection of reflections on the three-year Sunday Mass cycle of scripture readings which were originally published weekly on the Galway Diocesan website.

At the launch in the Chapel of Saint Columbanus, adjacent NUIG campus, Archbishop Neary drew attention to his colleague’s deep biblical knowledge and his remarkable gift for good humoured, accessible writing. Commending ‘Turning Wounds into Wisdom’, he recommended it to all who have an interest in the relevance of scripture in the modern world, a desire to participate more fully in Sunday Mass or simply a passion for insightful, generous, accessible and inspirational writing.

The book is available in the Galway Cathedral bookshop.
