The Archdiocese of Tuam has announced some of the arrangements for Holy Week services in the Cathedral of the Assumption in Tuam.
On Monday 21 March a Mass for the Sick with the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick will take place at 2.30pm.
Mass of the Day will take place on Tuesday 22 March at 10.00am and 7.30pm.
On Wednesday 23 March Mass of the Day will take place at 10.00am. The Chrism Mass will take place at 6.00pm. At this Mass, Archbishop Michael Neary will consecrate the oil of Chrism and bless the other oils.
On Holy Thursday 24 March Morning Prayer will take place at 10.00am. Evening Mass of the Lord’s Supper will be celebrated at 8.00pm. This will be followed by Eucharistic Adoration intil 12.00 midnight.
On Good Friday 25 March the following services will take place in the Cathedral:
10.ooam Morning Prayer
12.00 noon Stations of the Cross
3.00pm The Celebration of the Lord’s Passion
8.00 pm Prayer Around The Cross (Taizé Music, Prayers, Reflections and Silence)
On Holy Saturday 26 March Morning Prayer will take place at 10.00am. From 12.00 noon until 3.00pm the Sacrament of Reconciliation will be available. The Easter Vigil will begin at 9.00pm.
On Easter Sunday 27 March the Mass time are 8.30am, 10.30am and 12.30pm.
The Sacrament of Reconciliation will be available throughout Holy Week at the following times:
Monday: After 10.00 am Mass and before 2.30 pm Mass
Tuesday: After 10.00 am Mass and after 7.30 pm Mass
Wednesday: After 10.00 am Mass
Thursday: After Evening Mass of the Lord’s Supper
Friday: 1.00pm – 3.00pm, 4.00pm – 5.00pm and 8.00pm – 9.00pm
Saturday: 12.00 noon – 3.00 pm
