Church leaders from Ireland reflect on the Good Friday Agreement in Rome

The Church Leaders’ Group, Ireland, (pictured above) met today, 28 September, in Rome for an ecumenical prayer service to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement.

The co-presiders for the service include: Archbishop Eamon Martin, Catholic Archbishop of Armagh and Primate of All-Ireland; Archbishop John McDowell, Church of Ireland Archbishop of Armagh and Primate of All-Ireland; Reverend David Turtle, President of the Methodist Church in Ireland; The Most Right Reverend Dr Sam Mawhinney, Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland; and, Bishop Andrew Forster, Church of Ireland Bishop of Derry & Raphoe and President of the Irish Council of Churches.

The leaders have been invited by the Embassy of Ireland, and by the Embassy of Britain, to share their experiences with a group of diplomatic representatives.
