Clondalkin parishes invite you to believe and belong during Lent 2017

The Combined Catholic Parishes of Clondalkin will host a series of talks throughout Lent entitled ‘Wanting to Believe, Daring to Belong’. Beginning on 9 March, the parishes will gather at 7:30pm each Thursday of Lent in the Church of Saint Peter the Apostle, Collinstown, Dublin, to ‘rediscover, reconnect and revitalise’.

Guest speakers during the series will include Brothers Martin Bennett and Bryan Shorthall of the Capuchin Franciscan Friars; Georgina Jameson, Parish Pastoral Worker with the Parish of Travelling People, a parish of the Archdiocese of Dublin which serves close to 8,000 members of the Travelling Community in the area; and Gerard Gallagher, Pastoral Co-Ordinator for the Archdiocese of Dublin with a focus on youth ministry.

The dates and themes for the upcoming talks are as follows:

9 March – ReDiscover – Theme: Believing & Belonging
What do we Believe and what does it mean to Belong? What does baptism ask of us? Speaker: Fr Martin Bennet OFM Cap.

16 March – ReKindle Hope – Theme: Healing
We are a people and Church both blessed and broken. Recognising the healing that comes when we hear, share, see and be the good news. Speaker: Fr Bryan Shortall OFM Cap.

23 March – ReConnect – Theme: All are Welcome / Inclusiveness
The diversity in our Church – ‘All are welcome’. We are all different but equally loved and called. Our diversity is our richness and our hospitality is our witness. Speaker: Georgina Jameson and representatives from the Parish of the Travelling Community.

30 March – ReConcile – Theme: Reconciliation
Exploring the radical Gospel call to forgiveness. What does it ask of us and our community of faith? Speaker: Gerard Gallagher.

6 April – ReJoicing – Theme: Building Our Community of Faith
How do we celebrate with joy our belonging and believing? Revitalising our mission to bring the Good News of God’s love to all. Speaker: Fr Martin Bennet OFM Cap.
