Demand for extra Irish screenings of ‘Love and Mercy: Faustina’

by | 13 Dec, 2019 | News

Love and Mercy: Faustina is a film directed by Michal Kondrat, starring Kamila Kaminska,  Maciej Malysa,  Janusz Chabior. The film is a docudrama on Divine Mercy and the mission of Saint Faustina Kowalska. It reveals previously unknown facts and recently disclosed documents that shed new light on the Divine Mercy message. The Divine Mercy is a devotion to Jesus Christ associated with the apparitions of Jesus to Sister Faustina in Poland in the 1930s, who was canonised by Pope John Paul II on 30 April 2000.

Dramatically recreated scenes between Saint Faustina and her confessor Father Michał Sopoćko traced the story of the origins of the Divine Mercy image and how the devotion to Divine Mercy was born and spread throughout the world. Shot in the US, Poland and Lithuania, the film is a compelling hybrid of dramatization and documentary-style storytelling.

Love and Mercy: Faustina premiered in Ireland on 18 November, and has returned to cinemas by popular demand, the film was screened again on 9 and 10 December. Love and Mercy: Faustina returns for one more date in cinemas across Ireland on 16 December.
