Exhibition on 100-year history of Irish religious by Sisters of St John of God

To celebrate National Heritage Week, the Sisters of Saint John of God Congregation will host a photographic exhibition on the journey of Irish Religious Sisters from 1923 to 2023, at home and overseas, on the theme: ‘Daring to Hope – Irish Religious Sisters Embracing the Unknown 1923-2023’.

The exhibition, an initiative of the Association of Leaders of Missionaries & Religious of Ireland (AMRI), will take place at the Chapel, Saint John of God Convent, Newtown Road, Wexford, Y35 K5RK, from 20 to 22 August, and it will be open between 10.00am and 4.30pm.

The display will share the 100-year journey in three phases:

  • Pioneering Ministries – 1923 to 1965
  • Era of Great Change – 1966 to 2000
  • Ongoing Ministries – 2001 to 2023
