Faithcast podcast hears about the draw of Lourdes for pilgrims

Faithcast is the weekly faith podcast from www.catholicnews.ie, the news source for the Irish Catholic Bishops’ Conference. Presented by Brenda Drumm, Faithcast is a mixture of interviews, news and stories of faith from the Catholic Church in Ireland.

Episode 52 of Faithcast features an interview with Gerard Bennett of the Oblate Pilgrimage to Lourdes in which he shares the history of the pilgrimage and the special draw that Lourdes has for people of faith, especially those who are sick.

The faith news this week features the statement from the Catholic Bishops in Northern Ireland in which they express alarm at the push to remove the rights of the most vulnerable; the appointment of Father Michael Duignan as Bishop of Clonfert; Bishop Denis Nulty’s search for Ireland’s favourite prayer;  the ordination of Father Michael Router as Auxiliary Bishop of Armagh; and, the appointment of Matteo Bruni as the new Director of the Vatican Press Office.
