This Holy Week, Bishop William Crean, Bishop of Cloyne, will be presiding at the following ceremonies in Saint Colman’s Cathedral in Cobh:

Wednesday 23 March
Bishop William Crean extends an invitation to all in the diocese to gather for the annual Chrism Mass in Saint Colman’s Cathedral, Cobh, during which the blessing of the holy oils will take place. The holy oils will be used in the coming year throughout the diocese for baptisms, confirmations, the ordination of priests, and the anointing of the sick. After the Mass, all are invited to the Park Road Centre, Cobh for light refreshments.

Holy Thursday 24 March
On Holy Thursday the Solemn Mass of the Lord’s Supper will be celebrated in Saint Colman’s Cathedral at 7.30 pm.

Good Friday 25 March
The Solemn Celebration of the Lord’s Passion and Veneration of the Cross will take place at 3.00 pm

Holy Saturday 26 March
The Easter Vigil will take place in Saint Colman’s Cathedral at 9.00 pm.

Easter Sunday 27 March
Easter Sunday Mass will be celebrated at 12.00 pm.

  • Tuesday 22 March at 8.00 pm – Sacrament of Reconciliation
  • Holy Thursday at 7.30 pm – Mass of the Lord’s Supper
  • Adoration at the Altar of repose until Night Prayer at 10.30 pm
  • Good Friday at 3.00 pm – Celebration of the Lord’s Passion. 7.30 pm – Stations of the Cross

Holy Saturday   

  • 12.00 pm – Confessions
  • 1.00 pm – Blessing of Easter Food
  • 9.00 pm – Solemn Easter Vigil

Easter Sunday

  • 10.30 am – Mass of Easter Day
  • 12.00 pm – Mass of Easter Day

Holy Thursday

  • 8.00 pm – Mass of the Lord’s Supper
  • Adoration at the Altar of repose until Night Prayer at 10.00 pm

Good Friday

  • 3.00 pm – Celebration of the Lord’s Passion
  •  8.00 pm – Stations of the Cross

Holy Saturday

  • 12.00 am – Confessions
  • 9.00 pm – Solemn Easter Vigil

Easter Sunday

11.00 am – Mass of Easter Day

Saint Mary’s Church, Waterloo:

Good Friday 12.00 pm – Special Children’s Liturgy

Easter Sunday 9.30 am – Mass of Easter Day
