The new website for the Irish Centre for Padre Pio and the National Shrine of Saint Pio went live today, Thursday 23 September, the Feast of Saint Padre Pio.
The website has some new and innovative features including: an online shop; the option to light a virtual candle at the National Shrine of Saint Pio in Church Street, Dublin, information about Padre Pio Prayer Groups across Ireland and details of news and events.
Saint Mary of the Angels Capuchin Church contains the National Shrine of Saint Pio which are operated by the Capuchin Friars. The Church and Shrine continue to be a place of prayer, devotion and mercy. Every Tuesday people devoted to Saint Anthony visit the Shrine and participate in mass. On the third Thursday of each month, people also gather to participate in the monthly devotions to Saint Padre Pio.
The National Centre for Padre Pio has a long and faith-filled history spanning decades of devotion, work, and divine intervention. From its humble beginning as a simple community/parish holy hour in 1968, the National Centre has grown into the premier destination devoted to Padre Pio in the Island of Ireland, and through new programmes and national and international pilgrimages, it continues to breathe new life into Padre Pio’s mission.
The website was designed by Acton BV with input from across the Capuchin Family in Ireland. Visit the website now on www.padrepio.ie.
