The Derry Youth Community (DYC), based in Derry city, is a group of committed young people (aged 18-25) who live a life of community, prayer and service. The DYC serve the Diocese of Derry by working with young people in schools and parishes, helping to bring the Gospel to life!
The Derry Youth Community respond to the call to service by:
- Evangelising young people in the Diocese of Derry
- Encouraging young people into deeper relationship with Jesus
- Bringing them more fully into the life of the Catholic Church
- Doing School Retreats
- Doing School Missions that are in association with the feeder parishes
- Doing parish presentations
- Living in community
- Being centred on the Eucharist
- Reflecting on their vocation
- Caring in particular for the weak and the vulnerable
They have produced a new promotional video which can be watched here and they are asking people to watch and share it. They are also asking young people local to Derry if they feel the DYC might be calling them and to get in touch.
