As part of its outreach programme in Ireland, Trócaire – the overseas development agency established by the Irish Bishops in 1973 – works with parishes across the island to raise awareness about global justice issues. Trócaire is seeking to appoint a Laudato Si’ Officer to help deliver its Laudato Sí Project in collaboration with the Laudato Sí’ Movement. The Officer will be part of the Trócaire Ireland Division Outreach Team which focuses on engaging the Church audience across Ireland specifically on Laudato Sí’ and climate justice.
Pope Francis published his encyclical Laudato Si’ – On care for our common home, in 2015. It has since become a global in which Pope Francis calls for action at local, national and international levels to combat ecological destruction, and in particular the future threat and current reality of climate change.
