On 5 April, the Vatican Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, met with approximately 50 people working against the criminalization of homosexuality.

Research on the criminalization of homosexuality in the Caribbean was presented to the Cardinal at the meeting.

As he greeted those present, Cardinal Parolin repeated the Catholic Church’s position defending the dignity of every human person against every form of violence.

Upon receipt of the research and after listening to presentations delivered by some of those in attendance, Cardinal Parolin stated he would present the contents of the research to the Holy Father.
